PhD POSITION (M/F) in Regensburg


The department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Regensburg is offering


With focus on auditory and non-invasive brain stimulation for the treatment of tinnitus

Fulltime, start in September 2017, duration: 3 years

The position will be part of the European School on Inter-disciplinary Tinnitus Research (ESIT, – a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action funded by the European Commission.



  • Active participation in the training activities of the European School on Interdisciplinary Tinnitus Research (ESIT)
  • Carrying out empirical studies on chronic tinnitus patients, combining auditory stimulation with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation
  • Conducting studies using Electroencephalography (EEG)

The post is remunerated on the TV-L salary scale. Preference will be given to disabled applicants with equal qualifications. Please indicate disablement in your application.

  • Good skills and experience in conducting empirical studies
  • Good skills and experience in EEG acquisition and analysis
  • Basic experience with statistical analysis
  • Basic experience with sound processing
  • Master degree or equivalent in audiology or natural sciences (e.g. psychology, neuroscience, physics) or Medical Degree
  • Basic experience in clear writing of scientific reports or articles
  • Very good skills in English speaking and writing
  • Basic skills in German or willingness to learn the language, in order to communicate with patients
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team player
  • You should not have a doctorate degree yet
